Change of scenery, no beach today. But a little boat ride, by airboat (or air-boat) in the Everglades Park.
This national park contains the largest natural wetland in the country, and encompasses 25% of the original marshland region of the Everglades.
36 species considered endangered live in the park, including the Florida panther, the American crocodile and the Caribbean manatee. More than 350 species of birds, about 300 species of fresh and salt water fish, 40 species of mammals and 50 species of reptiles live in the park.
Okay, so we didn't see all these little creatures during our excursion. However, we did come across a few alligators, which was our initial goal.
