Amalfi Coast Stay - 3 Nights

For our stay on the Amalfi Coast, we stayed 3 nights.

Day 1: Pompeii, Sorrento

Day 2: Amalfi Coast

Day 3: Herculaneum

Day 4: Return to Rome

Day 1

We left Naples in a rental car from the central station.

On the way we stopped to visit Pompeii, a mythical and unmissable place on our trip. I invite you to consult the post Pompeii and Herculaneum for more details.

We then went to our hotel located on the coast a few kilometers from Sorrento, the Hotel Mega Mare ( Hotel Mega Mare Vico Equense, Sorrento Coast - 3 star hotel with sea view and pool ). The view from our room on the bay was magnificent. The sunset is simply magical.

In the evening we went for a walk in Sorrento. The Christmas decorations were sumptuous…

Day 2

Here we are, off for a superb day of roadtrip along the Amalfi Coast.

The road runs along the sea and the view of the Mediterranean is splendid. We pass through pretty villages perched on the cliffside: Positano, Prariano, Amalfi…

On the way we stop to visit a cave, the Grotta dello Smeraldo . You have to take an elevator to go down to the entrance of the cave. The visit is not very long but it is very pretty.

For lunch, we stopped at the small Alba Café restaurant. Very friendly welcome and delicious meal…

For the way back, we decided to return by the mountain road rather than taking the coastal road that we had already taken. Change of scenery. Even if the sea is not far, the panorama is very different.

Day 3

Day 4

Back to Rome for the end of our trip to Italy.
